An Evening on the Riviera began in 1996 at the home of Nancy O’Donnell.
Nancy, Bob Rosensteel, and Jeanmarie O'Malley met weekly, for months, developing the fundamental concepts for event that continue today.
The goal was to raise money for Frederick based charities while enjoying fine wine, cuisine, and entertainment. The group not only wanted the event to benefit charity, but they also wanted to showcase local businesses and restaurants.
More than 125 Fredericktonians attended the first event and raising over $10,000 – an amazing feat.
Like today, businesses sponsored the event, auction items were donated, incredible food was provided by some of Frederick’s best restaurants, and a good time was had by all.
Under Bob's direction and leadership, and with the help of generous volunteers, the event has grown quickly into the area's premier food and wine fundraising extravaganza.
